Testing of Food Contact Materials
Consulting and laboratory testing – tailored to your business and materials
Accredited testing – documentation accepted by authorities
FCMtesting is accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025 for testing of food contact materials.
This ensures that our analyses and methods comply with international requirements and are recognised by both Danish and European regulatory authorities.
More than testing – expert guidance and tailored advice
At FCMtesting, our work goes beyond material testing.
We support you in understanding regulatory requirements, assessing your needs, and selecting the appropriate documentation – without unnecessary testing or costs.
Pre-test consultation
We base our advice on your business, materials, and intended use.
Together, we determine which tests are necessary – before anything is initiated.
Only what is necessary
You only pay for the tests that are relevant to your product and market.
Unnecessary analyses are avoided – without compromising legal requirements or regulatory acceptance.
100% focus
We are the only laboratory in Denmark dedicated exclusively to food contact materials.
This ensures deep expertise, better assessments, and more precise advice.
Which tests are relevant for your product?
Products in contact with food are subject to different requirements, depending on material, intended use, and market.
We help you identify exactly which tests are required for documentation and regulatory approval.
Material and composition
Material type, additives, and any layers or coatings have a significant impact on which analyses are relevant.
Different materials impose different requirements for testing and documentation.
Intended use and contact conditions
How and for how long the material is in contact with food – as well as temperature and food type – affects the testing requirements.
These factors are decisive for the selection of migration and analytical tests.
Market and legislation
Requirements vary depending on where the product is marketed.
EU legislation, national regulations, and customer-specific requirements may impose different documentation requirements.
What do our customers say?
We contacted FCMtesting when we needed our ceramic products tested and approved
with in-house developed glazes for food contact.
The collaboration has been a very positive experience – with qualified guidance,
fast execution of migration testing and assistance with the preparation of
Declaration of Compliance.
As a result, we can now sell our ceramic products with peace of mind while also
continuing the development of our glazes.”

From contact to complete documentation – FCM•testing handles the entire process

1. We clarify your needs
You contact us by phone or email and provide information about your product. We review your requirements and identify which documentation and tests are necessary.

2. Collection and assessment of documentation
We obtain the relevant technical documentation from you or your supplier. We then review the material and assess whether it complies with legislation—or if additional data is required.

3. Performing the necessary tests
If test data is missing, we ensure that the necessary tests are carried out. This may include migration tests or other analyses that demonstrate your product is safe for food contact.

4. Preparation of the Declaration of Compliance
Once all documentation and test results are in place, we prepare the Declaration of Compliance you need to document your product’s legal compliance.

5. Approval and delivery
You receive the declaration for review and approval. Once everything is verified, we deliver the final documentation, so you are ready to market your product.

6. Ongoing support and updates
If regulations change or you launch new products, we can help update your documentation and carry out new tests.
Gain clarity on your testing needs – before you order anything.
A short discussion is often sufficient to clarify which tests are necessary – and which can be omitted.
We assess your testing needs based on material, intended use, and market, helping you avoid unnecessary analyses and costs.
